Compassionate Care

NOTICE: Due to COVID-19 we are not currently accepting any new patients. The DOH is allowing for Telemedicine Follow-Up visits for existing patients. Book your visit online or call to set it up. This order is only good until the Florida State of Emergency 20-52 is over.

Our mission is to provide affordable, knowledgeable and compassionate care for patients in the

greater Gainesville area who are in need of alternative medical options.

Dr. Janes is a practicing physician in Gainesville, Florida.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Florida, and then a Ph.D in Biology from the University of California, Riverside.  After two post doctoral fellowships, he attended medical school in the Los Angeles area and as Chief Resident, completed his training in emergency medicine.

His lifelong love for the biological sciences has led him all over the world, including field and lab work on Adelie penguins in Antarctica, medical missions with the Maasai in Kenya, travels in South America and Tasmania and time as a Naturalist aboard the ship World Discoverer.  He is a subspecialist in envenomation toxicology and a local expert on the bites and stings of insects, spiders and snakes.

Dr. Janes returned to Gainesville in 2014 to reconnect with the local community and the Florida ecology.  He is an avid kayaker and scuba diver with a particular interest in reptiles, amphibians and coral reef sea life.  A passionate environmentalist, he is always looking for ways where medical science and nature can connect to bring healing and balance.
